The world has a way of making sin feel normal.
What culture celebrates today is often regretted tomorrow. In 1 Peter 4:1-6, Peter reminds believers that Christ has called us to something different. Because we have been united to Christ, we are no longer controlled by the desires of the flesh, but are renewed for righteousness.
In this sermon, Pastor Dan walks through Peter's progression of renewal:
- Inward Transformation – Salvation reshapes our desires and reorients our lives around the will of God.
- Outward Difference – A transformed life stands apart from the world, often drawing criticism and opposition.
- Upward Hope – Christians endure present suffering because they live with the certainty of eternity, judgment, and the triumph of Christ.
When the world says, "Follow the crowd," Peter calls believers to follow Christ.
